Pompeii begins with a thunderous volcanic eruption featuring Vesuvius in 79 AD. Corvus (Kiefer Sutherland) enslaves and kills an entire tribe of Celts, including Milo (Kit Harington), a child who later becomes a formidable gladiator. As a reward for punishing his rivals, South Roman’s fire gladiators indulge him as they fight other slaves in flashy spectacles.

While battling for the glory of Pompeii, he encounters Cassia (Emily Browning), Severus’ daughter. Named “The Pompeian Rose,” Cassia is returning from Rome after trying to escape her father’s ally-correspondent-exlover-turned-Corvus who was obsessed with her post puberty figure and wanted to marry her off. Friendly but transgressional rendezvous for both sides fans ignite sizzling attraction between the two.
